'THE FAMILY AFFAIR"

THIS IS MY LIFE and THIS IS MY DREAM

My Grandmother Played Piano and Sang Songs to me as a young child. Those were Magical Moments, because of  Joy and Love she shared. The Music brought forth such a true spirit, and it never told a lie.  My Grandmother Glowed... and it seemed like Magic. MUSIC became my deepest passion, and it has carried me through my life... like wings of an Angel. In fact, after my Grandmother's death I started writing. Perhaps the Wings that carried me were my Grandmother's guiding me from the other side. She had appeared to me when I was writing in my studio for months on end. I couldn't seem to lay down the tracks fast enough. Music was just coming from endless waves of spirit and such deep conviction that I almost thought I was going mad.  The Impact that one can have upon another is perhaps, all our stories combined, in memories of time. The journey of those who have traveled with us, even in the moments of our deepest state of solitude, a Light is always shinning upon the human race and the world.

ROCK AND ROLL IN THE COUNTRY

Above from left to right is Rodger on Bass, Cindy Pearson on Drums, Jean Avery Guitar and Toby Avery on Lead Guitar and Vocals.  Getting up on stage after rehearsals all week was  like getting back in the saddle.  Sit tight, hold on, and feel the rhythm of the horse and keep on riding.

We did...Our Style...Rock and Roll Country and people just Loved it. This experience came at a time when I was having about 25 siezures a day.  I had just healed from surgery resulting from a Rape.  It took about 4 surgeries before things settled down, and I lost a child.  Music healed my soul and lifted me to a higher state of mind.  The Family Affair was exactly that...a family of spirit and  music...

GETTING MY FIRST GUITAR

Getting a Guitar was such a thrill... I spent more time with it, than I did with anyone. It was a Sanctuary for me. I Died in February 1967, and as you can see ...I came back. That was an experience that has taken a lifetime to understand.  Music and Writing was a connection for me to the other side.  I knew things before they would happen, or knew answers on a subject that I was not educated about.  I could feel the music in the same way....energies... their colors...a knowing that took me to places I couldn't have even dreamed of.  I have always taken things as an opportunity to grow.
